Pearls of the Wilderness is a small photography/graphic design company. A sole proprietorship managed and owned by Matt Nelson. It was founded in 2003 by Matt's older brother, Mike. When Mike passed away in 2004, he passed his dream and the company onto Matt. The mission of Pearls of the Wilderness is to inspire travel in the wilderness with my, and my late brother's, photography.        "When I'm in the wilderness, the deepest of emotions are provoked in a way that is totally unique. I call it the 'wilderness experience'. I seek it, we all do (most of us do?), to fulfill physical, emotional, and spiritual needs that we all have together. To have this experience is to hear and respond to the "Call of the Wild". We answer this call because we are human and we love feeling alive. My greatest hope in photography is to trigger the desire to be "out there" in the woods, in the mountains, in the deserts, in the wilderness."
